Hi,
Miranda and I made the Saltine Cracker Toffee for teachers and coaches and we got rave reviews. It's so easy to make and inexpensive. Maybe you can try it for that special little gift for a youth group leader, mailman, etc. Bring a little joy to someone unexpectedly this year.
Blessings,
Heidi

Tear Jerker video

Hi Ladies,
Well, I'm at it again. While checking out some other blogs for ideas, I came across this video about a brave little boy. It made me cry, of course, but then I praised God for my two healthy girls.

Christmas video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSpjqgfhGPE
I absolutely love this video. As some of you may know, I tend to get depressed around the holidays. I don't really know why, it just happens every year. It may be because there are those special people who I don't get to spend Christmas with or the fact that Christmas is commercialized and such a big emphasis on spending.
Hopefully you can view it. Blessings!!

Christmas decorations
Hi Everyone,
I'm going to attempt to put some pics of our tree and decorations. I went to this really cool little shop in downtown Dunedin called Rasberries. I found this little sign that says "Keep Christ in Christmas" I knew that I had to have it and the price was right at under $8.00.
Some of the traditions that we have in family is that the girls get a new ornament each year from some of their grandparents. When they leave home some day :-( , they will get to take them with them. Another thing that we have done is gone caroling in senior centers or mobile home parks. This has been a highlight for me because to see the joy on the faces of the elderly folks makes it all worth it.
If you have a moment, let me know what your traditions are or if you have a special recipe to share, I will post it. May you and your family have a Jesus filled Christmas.
Love,
Heidi Ho Ho

http://adventconspiracy.org/
Hi Everyone,
I came across this e-mail and wanted to share with you. It's called the advent conspiracy. It points out what Christmas has become (not our birthdays) but Jesus' so why the frantic shopping and headaches. My family and I keep the gift giving to a minimum because we want the focus to be on Christ's coming to our world as a babe. Check out the video and enjoy the season for what it is truly about.
Blessings,
Heidi

White Elephant Gift Exchange
Hi Everyone,
We hosted our annual gift exchange last night and had a blast. When my children wake up I will have them show me how to download pics from the camera and post a couple on my blog. Everyone brought some yummy food, the fellowship was great and the gifts were definitely corny at times. My friend, Lynn, decided to shop in her garage and brought a huge box filled with things like a broken radio, water guns, etc. Luckily for us she also included some gift cards and a lottery ticket. If we win tonight, we're all going on a cruise over the holidays, ok, on us.
Christmas is such a wonderful time to reconnect with family and friends. I wish all of you could have made it last night, but I also know that we all have lives and especially kids who are our priority right now. They are a blessing (most of the time). I'm realizing how quickly the time is going with them and it makes me sad. There is a beautiful song that Mandisa (from American Idol) did with Matthew West called "Christmas makes me cry". Check it out on Youtube.
Well, the house is quiet. The girls had friends over last night and who knows how late they were up. That's the only reason I don't care too much that I can't hear out of my left ear. It works out because I just lay on my good ear and snooze away.
I'll post more later. Have a blessed day. Remember to hug those that God has put in your life and give others who don't live near you a call. It's the next best thing.
Remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season!!!!!

Christmas decorating
Hi Everyone,
We are in the process of decorating our house for a White Elephant Gift exchange this coming Friday and I'm sooooooo far behind. Last week after camping I caught a terrible flu bug and was out of commision for about 5 days. I'm playing catch up right now. I'm going to attempt to post before and after pics.
I'll save you some cookies. I can already taste them, yum!!

Background added
I can't believe that I was able to add this fancy background to my blog. Cool!! I'm not so computer illiterate afterall. My girls will be amazed. Right now I don't even know how to download the pictures from our digital cameras to the computer. Well, that's going to have to change because once in awhile I like to take pics of my home or projects.
Well, by for now.
Well, by for now.
Welcome to my little corner of the world
Hi Everyone,
I'm venturing out a little from my comfort zone and getting into the Blog world. I have checked out numerous blogs and wanted to give it a try. I will try to add interesting things such as recipes, projects that I'm on (wishful thinking) etc.
Thanks for reading this and Merry Christmas to all of you.
Blessings,
Heidi
